Aadra Bhatt (2002-04) Role of 14-3-3 proteins in polarized growth of pollen tubes. She earned a summer research fellowship and won awards for the best presentation in cell biology, the outstanding female undergraduate, and the Horace Byrne award for excellence in undergraduate presentation at the SC Academy of Sciences meeting. Aadra also worked on calcium uptake in pollen tubes and is a co-author on Lazzaro et al. (2005).
Eric Marom (2003-04) Role of KCPB proteins in pollen tube elongation. He earned a summer research fellowship and presented his work at the SC Academy of Science meeting. Eric is a co-author on Lazzaro et al. (2013).
Monique Phillips (2002-03) Cytoplasmic dynein in conifer pollen tubes. She presented her work at the SC Alliance for Minority Participation meeting. Monique also worked on calcium uptake in pollen tubes and is a co-author on Lazzaro et al. (2005).
Jeanne Goins (2002-03) Control of endoplasmic reticulum motility in conifer pollen tubes. She presented her work at the SC Academy of Sciences meeting and is a co-author on Justus et al. (2004).
Chip Justus (2001-2002) Microtubules and microfilaments direct motility in conifer pollen tubes. He earned a summer research fellowship and presented his work at the Southern section meeting of the American Society of Plant Biologists. Chip also worked on calcium uptake and pH regulation in pollen tubes. He is first author on Justus et al. (2004) and a co-author on Lazzaro et al. (2005).
